Lavender is an aromatic plant typical of the Mediterranean scrub, appreciated since ancient times for its healing and hygienic properties, from which, among other things, it derives its name.
Admired for the beauty of its flowers that, from June to September, paint the fields with purple streaks flecked with blue, this gift of nature contains, in the inflorescences of the ears, an extraordinary richness of tannins, flavonoids and ursolic acid.
The first people to use lavender flowers to clean and purify the body in thermal baths, to improve the health and beauty of skin and hair in essential oils and for the preparation of healing infusions were the Egyptians, followed by the Greeks and the Latins.
The lavandin that we use in our soaps is a Provençal variety of intermediate lavender “Abrialis” called “Grosso“. Particularly aromatic, it is distinguished by its intense and camphorated scent. It is the most used for the production of essential oil and linen perfumes.
